Product Description |
| WD Scorpio Black 7200 RPM SATA 2.5-inch hard drives from Western Digital combine a lightning-fast 7200 RPM spin speed with a SATA 3 Gb/s interface and 16 MB cache to deliver desktop-class performance. With 5400 RPM-equivalent power consumption there is no compromise in battery life. In addition, WD Scorpio Black hard drives are designed with ruggedness, reliability, and data-protection features that actively watch over valuable data. Available in capacities up to 320 GB, these hard drives are perfect for laptop users who require maximum capacity and lightning-fast performance. Free-fall sensor - As an added layer of protection, if the drive (or the system it's in) is dropped while in use, WD's free-fall sensor detects that the drive is falling and, in less than 200 milliseconds, parks the head to help prevent damage and data loss. |

| My VAIO HardDrive failed in 2 year so I got this from Amazon, replaced the original HDD with Western digital Scorpio and viola all the noise that came from the old HDD was gone laptop was more quiet and it is fast as compared to the original 5400 rpm drive. In all this Drive is very nice. |

This was a really good upgrade for a PC, as it is a 7200 rpm drive instead of standard 5400, and has a 32M buffer. Really speeded up an older machine. Also has drive protection for if it falls, but hope I never need to see if that works. :-)
As for it being a factory refurb, I had no problems with that as they probably just replaced the circuit board. Just to be sure I ran the WD diags against it before, but have had no problems at all.
Great product! |
