I used this to replace my old WD 250GB drive that got the "click of death".
So far:
Pros:
-Fast enough for my needs--maybe a little slower becuase of RPM and cache size but not too much
-It took less than an hour to install Vista Home if that gives you an idea of transfer speed
-Great packaging--anti-static bag and recyclable plastic "holders" to keep it centered in the box--minimal and sufficient
-Quiet. Some people say its "quiet 'enough'" but I have a laptop and I can't hear a single thing coming from it when its busy. The CPU fan is louder (and it's still quiet!)
Neutral:
-Capacity is a little low--149GB after format and 121GB after OS. Its fine for me because I will never need more than 30GB or so.
Cons:
-No warranty what-so-ever. Makes me a little nervous.
Great product for the price. Probably would recommend.

| I recently purchased this Seagate Momentus 500 GB to upgade my 160 GB PS3. I got the product earlier then scheduled from Amazon, which is always a good thing. I installed it the sameday, the installation was simple, if you did your homework on upgrading the PS3 HDD. After installing the new 500 GB HDD I turned on the PS3 and it sounds very quiet. I recommend the product for anyone who wants a little more breathing room in their PS3, its a perfect fit and works Great !! |

| I bought this to upgrade my PS3 hard drive(40 GB). I looked all over the web. How to videos, price comparing, quality, etc. and this is what I found. The removal and installation took less than 10 minutes and that is including removal from shipping packaging. So much easier than I thought it was going to be because I have never messed with a hard drive before. I didn't have very much to back up so I saved what I could on a usb flash drive. (If you have alot you want to move to new hard drive you will need more than 8 GB storage device.) It takes longer to do the formatting and installation of PS3 hardware. After all that it showed my free space to be 412 GB / 465 GB. Not going to complain about that at all! |

| I purchased this Hard Disk for my acer laptop 5610, Since I bought it to now I'm very pleased with the funtioning, Is a little slow than the others but it,s very quiet. |

Pros: easy to install, lots of extra space
Cons: Perhaps a little louder than my stock HD
I've been using this hard drive for close to a year and I haven't had any problems with it. I wanted to upgrade because I use a lot of space on my Macbook with music & video files. It was super simple to install. It literally took less than five minutes to install on my Mac. It came well protected in the mail and arrived very quickly as well. I love all the extra space I have, but I think the fan may be slightly louder when I'm managing large files (1 GB+). It's not really a complaint, but it's still worth mentioning. When I'm using my computer normally it's the same as before. I'm definitely happy I bought this. |
