Good price, dies at 45% capacity

I got this battery for my Dell Inspiron e1505. It works okay. I've had it for about six weeks. It doesn't last as long as my old Dell brand battery did when it was new. However, the price is much cheaper. I find that the battery completely dies when it gets down to 45% capacity. This is particularly annoying because Windows doesn't know the batter is about to die (Windows thinks the battery is 45% full), so Windows doesn't prompt you or put the computer to sleep. The laptop just dies hard.

I have customized my power scheme in Windows so that it will put my computer to sleep when the battery is 50% depleted. This saves my work and prevents me needing a full reboot.

I probably get about 1 1/2 to 2 hours of battery life. Again, I've had it for six weeks. I'm not sure if it will continue to hold a charge or not.

This battery is so much cheaper than a Dell branded battery that I'm still giving it 3 stars, even though it is clearly not a great product.
Battery wore out very quickly

I purchased this battery to replace the battery that had shipped with my Dell laptop. The original Dell battery lasted a year and a half. I purchased this battery hoping to get 2-3 years of use out of it. However, after only 6 months the battery's charge capacity began diminishing considerably. First I could only get 80% charge, then it steadily dropped to 50% and less. Now, almost exactly one year after purchasing the battery it no longer maintains any charge at all, and my laptop shuts down anytime the power cord gets moved. I'm disappointed, and now looking to replace the battery once again. Buy at your own risk.
Acts normal at first, but life depreciats fast!!

I would not recommend this battery. The first couple of months it worked and acted as it was suppose to. But the battery life quickly dissipated and within a year had a life of 5 minutes. This is also coming from a person who keeps his laptop plugged in 98% of the time.

Bad Bad Bad

I purchased this battery about 11 months ago and waited to write my review until I had something to say.

The battery worked extremely well upon receipt, and lasted for about 9-10 months; however, over the last month or so, despite being fully charged, it only lasts about 45 minutes or less. There are times when it stops charging at 83% despite still being plugged in, and times when it charges fully. Lately, as soon as I unplug it, it goes from a 100% charge to 80% charge instantly, so I have to pretty much keep my laptop plugged in at all times.

I also heard that a battery's life will last longer if you remove it from the laptop when its fully charged and you're keeping the power cord plugged in; although I did that consistently, it didn't work.

The good thing I guess is that I paid a lot less for it than dell charges, so its fine for the price. In fact, my original laptop battery I received with my computer died completely in two years, so actually, two of these batteries for two years would still be cheaper than one dell battery that would last for two years.
